On the job training most effective when re-inforced by formal teaching & feedback

A 2010 McKinsey survey shows that whilst for many companies, building organisational capabilities is a top priority, it seems that only a third of companies actually focus training programs that build this capability.

The article goes on to say “on the job training is most effective when it is re-inforced through some form of formal teaching and feedback loop”.  Seems like common sense to me, but for a summary of the article: http://tiny.cc/1312d
